CONTOURING MAGIC: HOW TO CONTOUR YOUR OVAL-SHAPED FACE
Conjure light and shadows in the blink of an eye.
Oval-shaped faces are generally one-and-a-half times longer than they are wide. Contouring is used to create a more balanced ratio. In this tutorial, we show you how to use contour products that minimize your forehead while emphasizing the center of your face. BECKY PEDERSON
STEP ONE
Highlight the high points of your face. For an oval-shaped face, first apply highlighter in a half-circle shape on your forehead. Then, sweep it under the eyes, down the nose, outside the nostrils, on the chin, on the outside corners of your mouth, and on the outside of your jaw.
STEP TWO
Choose a contour color that’s not warm or shimmery. Use the angled side of your brush to apply your contour into the hollows of your cheeks. Then contour under the jaw, on the outside of the forehead, and down the sides of the nose.
STEP THREE
Blend. Start at the inner corner of your eyes and work your way out and around. Blend the highlighter out first and the contour in second, until there are no harsh lines.
STEP FOUR
Finish with a translucent powder. Use a pressing motion so you don’t sweep any of your makeup away. Make sure you hit your T-zone and under your eyes, as those spots tend to get the oiliest.

MAC Soft Serve Eyeshadow Swatches Here’s a really quick post with swatches from 10 shades in the MAC Soft Serve eyeshadow collection. Now these bounch creams do remind me a little (a lot) of Chanel Illusion d’Ombres and Dior Fusion Monos in overall look. Application and pay-off wise, they are probably closer to the Diors, and not as pigmented or as multi-dimensional as some of the Chanels tend to be. Then again, they are US$22 - you can’t really complain about the difference in pigments. (Pricing and launch dates to be advised in Singapore.) TOO FACED ‘BORN THIS WAY’ CONCEALER SWATCHES This week I received the entire range of the  Too Faced ‘Born This Way’ concealers. There are 10 shades in the collection, varying from the lightest colour ‘very fair’ to the darkest shade ‘deep’. So no matter your skin tone you will find a suitable match within this selection.  The consistency of these concealers are creamy and smooth - not too thick nor too runny, they’ve got it just right!  I’ve had a brief play with these but I really need to test them out on more clients with varying degrees of skin pigmentation to gain a more concise view as to whether they are as good as they claim.  So far though, I am impressed with them. I personally don’t have dark circles, but the formula does cover my breakouts when they occur. Having tried them under my eyes I was pleased with the results in the respect that the product does not sit in fine lines, nor does it make the eyes appear crepey like many concea...

For a heart-shaped face, those points are your jawline, the bridge of your nose, under your eyes, the tops of your cheeks, the corners of your mouth, and the center of your forehead.
